1. Introduction
Successful Seller Limited (“Successful Seller”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a company incorporated in Alberta, Canada. We operate successful-seller.com (the “Site”).
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it. We are the data controller for the information described here.

2. What we collect
Information you give us. When you request our free 27-point listing audit or subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name and email address, so we can deliver the audit and send you our email sequence. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address and message, so we can answer your enquiry. When you book a discovery call through Calendly, we collect your name, email and anything you enter when booking.
Information collected automatically. Pages viewed, time on page, referring source, approximate location at city or region level, browser and device type, and similar analytics data, collected through Google Analytics 4 and Jetpack. We also use cookies, described in section 7.
What we do not collect. We do not knowingly collect payment card details through the Site, sensitive personal information, or information from anyone under 16.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
We deliver the audit you asked for on the basis of steps taken at your request, and your express consent. We send you our nurture sequence and marketing emails on the basis of your consent, which you gave through a double opt-in. We respond to enquiries on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us. We run analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how the Site is used. We meet legal and regulatory obligations where the law requires it.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything we did lawfully beforehand. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether our interest is overridden by your rights and concluded it is not. You can ask us to explain that assessment, and you can object.
4. We do not sell your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
5. Who we share it with
We use service providers who process personal information on our behalf, under contract, and only on our instructions: MailerLite (our email list and sequences), Google Analytics 4 via MonsterInsights (site analytics), Calendly (discovery-call bookings), Bluehost (website hosting), Jetpack / Automattic (site statistics and security), and Google Workspace (our email).
We may also disclose personal information where we are legally required to, where necessary to establish or defend legal claims, or in connection with a sale or reorganisation of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.
6. International transfers
We are based in Canada and our providers are largely in the United States and the European Union. If you are in the UK or EEA, your information will be transferred outside your home jurisdiction. Canada benefits from a UK and EU adequacy decision in respect of organisations subject to PIPEDA, which provides a lawful route for transfers to us. For onward transfers to providers in the United States, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, certification under the EU-US and UK-US Data Privacy Framework.
7. Cookies
The Site uses strictly necessary cookies, needed for it to function and stay secure. It also uses analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4 and Jetpack) to understand how the Site is used, and functionality cookies (OptinMonster) to control which forms and offers you see. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking some will affect how the Site works.
8. Your rights
If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to access your information, correct it, erase it, restrict how we use it, object to processing based on legitimate interests, receive it in a portable form, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
If you are in Canada, you have the right under PIPEDA to access the personal information we hold about you, to challenge its accuracy, and to withdraw consent. You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Everyone can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. To exercise any right, email info@successful-seller.com. We will respond within 30 days, we do not charge for this, and we may need to verify your identity first.
9. How long we keep it
We keep email subscriber details until you unsubscribe, plus 12 months. We keep contact-form enquiries for 24 months from last contact. We keep discovery-call records for 24 months, or for the life of the engagement plus seven years if you become a client. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. We delete or anonymise information when we no longer need it, unless we are required to keep it for legal, tax, or accounting reasons.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and a maintained security plugin. No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as required by law.
11. Children
The Site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change we will take reasonable steps to tell you, which for subscribers means by email.
